This very dark, dense wine called for a dramatic presentation. Because the wine did not give me a lot of colour to work with I purposefully chose to use a more complex glass that would add a welcome spark to my darks. I also elected to halo the top of the wine bottle, again to give relief to the large dark areas without stealing from the overall dramatic tone.
