Tides

This piece is an offshoot of my continuing series of beach stone paintings. A dear friend and fellow artist arrived on my doorstep with this treasure of a shell and I (almost) immediately put the composition together in my head. I could hardly wait to put brush to canvas!

When the stars are aligned and the painting gods are smiling, things fall into place effortlessly...wish I had that experience more often!
