Chablis and Cherries
(36" x 24", oil on canvas)
I was inspired to try one last wine painting, this one a large vertical. The simplicity of the blue bowl and the wine bottle set off the complexity of the fruit, allowing me to focus on the absolutely gorgeous cherries. Cutting into the lemon with a knife gave me angular facets, which provided a nice contrast to the many rounded shapes found throughout this composition.
